CPD for Instructors

Supporting climbing instructors with fun and engaging CPD

Professional Development

There are a whole number of reasons why we feel CPD can be beneficial, it could be something as simple as wanting to know more or revisit skills due to skill-fade. Or, something a little more in-depth like problem solving rigging, or being able to plan and risk assess a more dynamic bouldering/weaselling session. We run hundreds of sessions per year with young people and adults, developing skills, technique right down to just running a great climbing experience for our clients. We therefore feel we can supply you with a new range of tools to throw in the old toolbox.

Each of the courses below is designed around instructors and what we feel supports them in being the best instructor they can. Our courses are all MTA approved courses, and you will receive 1 CPD point per day course attended, if you are an MTA member of course. We continue to review and develop these courses based on feedback and new experiences, whilst following industry best practice. These sessions are full days, allowing as much practice as possible on the courses to support and reinforce your learning. So check out our courses below, and if you feel there is anything you can tweak, learn or just refresh then come and join us for a great day at the crag.

These courses are open to anyone on the Rock Climbing Instructor journey, whether you are just starting out or long established looking to refresh skills.

CPD courses currently include:

  • Thinking Outside the Box – What’s Weaselling?
  • Thinking Outside the Box – Ropework
