This comprehensive two-day course run by John Rocks covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way, particularly where professional medical help is not immediately available.
There is sufficient content in this course to satisfy the requirements of the HSE in respect of Emergency First Aid at Work. An additional certificate can be provided to evidence this to an employer.
If you are only wanting the 8-hour course please select the date below that you require, you will need to select Emergency Outdoor First Aid. This will be day 1 only of the two day course, it cannot be day 2 for planning and content reasons.
Syllabus
Emergency Outdoor First Aid – 8 hours – 8-hour course is aligned to Band 2 requirements set by the Institute for Outdoor Learning.
Outdoor First Aid – 16 hours – 16-hour course fulfils the requirements of most outdoor NGB qualifications, and has been aligned with the Band 3 requirements set by the Institute for Outdoor Learning
Certification
Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with a written assessment on each day. A Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid, valid for 3 years, will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required. A range of methods are used, including, practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).
