Looking for a climbing club to get in to climbing or meet like-minded folk? Or may be you want to start the sport and feel supported throughout with coaching and additional instructional tips.
Our climbing club is three-fold:
Where you can come along to a regular meet and get to know other climbers, socialise and of course climb with the supportive and familiar faces of our climbing instructor team. Pre-requisites, a competent climber/boulderer.
Cost: Presently free, but we ask you book on please.
Though kids are welcome to the club of any age, they remain the responsibility of the parent/s and are still required to book in with us as well as the centre. The parent needs to be a competent climber, or booked on to a course.
Pre-requisites, a competent climber/boulderer.
Is an opportunity to meet regularly as part of a group and meet climbing partners and other folk to climb together under the watchful and supportive eye of one of our instructors or coaches. Instructors and coaches are on hand to ensure everyone is safe and help introduce folk to each other.
Cost: £5.00 per session
If you are seeking remedial instruction or coaching throughout the evening, please book in with us as well. This is £5.00, and will include about an hour of support from one of our instructors. This is not a course, and is to tackle singular areas you’d like to target, i.e. boulder problem coaching, how to use a new and unfamiliar belay device, remedial coaching/instruction, etc.
Pre-requisites, a competent climber/boulderer.
These are fully instructed courses that are run on the evening, so that you can get a feel for not only the club itself, but also continue climbing after the session has finished and practice skills learnt. These skills will be limited and your instructor will advise what can or cannot be practiced.
Completing either course does not guarantee competence, and the instructor will offer feedback and support throughout the course to ensure you are competent where possible. Additional sessions may be required to gain competence, and will be advised by your instructor. Please note, each centre will require a competence test to enter the centre for the first time, including The Climbing Hub.
Please note: Parents should not expect a child to belay them after completing the course, this will depend on size and weight differences, and advice can be given. The club is also an opportunity to meet folk so that this shouldn’t become an issue.
