Jon Callow

Instructor Bio

Jon has been adventuring since before he could walk, with parents who regularly chose to go on camping holidays around the UK rather than sit on a busy tourist beach in another country. Joining this with going to Scouts from a young age developing back to basics skills of knotwork and bushcraft while being exposed to alternative sports such as Kayaking and Caving built the foundation for the future.

Jon has been instructing Outdoor Activities since 2010, after finishing college studying Outdoor Sports and Leadership, and the job has taken him all over the country from Cornwall and South Wales to Yorkshire and the Lake District. Qualified in a large array of activities, he refers to himself as a “Jack of all trades, Master of none”, and proud of it as it allows him to experience the great outdoors in more ways than most ever can.

When not working Jon spends his time with his young family taking his partner and little girl on their own mini adventures. Whether that be storming castle ruins along the Northumberland coast, shredding mountain bike trails or floating around on the water in the Lake District or Scotland in their canoe. The outdoors is not just a way of making a living for Jon, but life itself.
