Learn to Lead Skills - Trad

There is a lot to take in over this very full two days of learning, not to mention climbing some amazing Gritstone outcrops. Learn to lead skills are different for everyone and we work with you to not only teach you the hard skills to climb safely in the outdoors, but we will also support you with additional coaching to help you get to grips with climbing outdoors.

Trad climbing in the UK has some proud ethics, and we’re very passionate about the style of climbing ourselves. This 2-day course will set you up nicely to head out on your first trad climbing adventures, whether this is in Yorkshire or the Peak District.

This course can also be combined with Learn to Lead Skills – Sport, opening up lots of opportunities to climb across the UK.

By the end of the course you can expect to:

• Have been instructed and coached on amazing Yorkshire or Peak District crags;
• Psyched to head out on your own trad climbing adventures;

Climbing experience required:

• Regular indoor climber on top rope, once a week or so
• Proficient top rope belayer, including holding falls;
• Or, completion of Rock Skills Intermediate or Learn to Lead – Sport
• Or, regular indoor or outdoor lead climber, 20+ routes at F5 or above;
• Or, have lead belayed and seconded 10+ outdoor rock climbs at VDiff or above;
