The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a fantastic, inspirational award for pupils to undertake, developing many life skills; teamwork, self confidence, resilience, determination to name but a few. It is highly regarded by higher education professionals and employers making it a prestigious addition to any CV or application. At My Expedition Rocks, we strive to make the award and expedition as fun and educational as possible for the students, and make life easier for DofE leaders and supervisors.
As an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for The Duke of Edinburgh Award’s expeditions, Bronze, Silver and Gold, we can offer you a complete package of training and practice at each Award level, through to the final assessed expedition. We provide comprehensive education material to aid the training which is important for your group to plan their expedition safely. We have worked with many groups to deliver the training and assessment expeditions for mainstream schools, youth groups and specialist education.
With our inherent flexibility, either delivering all three sections (training, practice and assessment) or just one section of the Award. We will put together a bespoke programme to suit your requirements, complete all of the necessary documentation and can price accordingly. Though we have included a price below for a standard package encompassing all of the elements.
Example of a Bronze Expedition:
Pre-Expedition Planning and Practice Expedition – Over the course of this stage we cover all the necessary skills to become proficient enough to complete the assessed expedition including organisation, equipment, navigation, cooking, campcraft, route planning and team work. This can be done either as a 3-day training and practice expedition block or several evening training sessions with a 2-day practice expedition, Obviously the longer the training, the better embedded the skills will become.
Assessed Expedition – Remotely supervised by our staff, the candidates will take everything they’ve learned from the training and practice element and work together to plan and execute their expedition together as a team.
Prices:
Bronze Award – From £195.00 p/p (1-night camp)
Silver Award – From £285.00 p/p (2-night camp)
