Providing a one-off positive learning environment for all is impossible, and we must accept that we’re not all built to sit in a classroom, and those who are in alternative educational provision may need additional support and stimuli to engage them fully. Our packages underpin personal and social development, through learning and engagement through positive outdoor learning experiences.
These programmes are designed in conjunction with the education provider, offering young people small ratios with greater support throughout their learning journey. These young people may have challenging behaviours and/or learning needs to be considered, and with experienced staff to help facilitate a fun and respectful learning environment.
The programme consists of a half term package of a full day session per week, run by our experienced and qualified staff members. The programme will work towards the achievement of learner agreed goals, and the needs of school, whilst also achieving transferable life skills. Other achievements will be in the form of working towards competence in certain activities, which could include, climbing, bushcraft, hill walking and more.
Group sizes are a maximum of 6, if school staff were to attend with the students, however if staff aren’t available we would be limited to a maximum of 5 per day. We aim to keep our ratios low, to maximise learning, but also maintain a personable and intense learning experience for the students.
