Student First Aid

Basic first aid training for students

Student First Aid

Our Student First Aid course came about as a result of the Government announcement that health education, including basic first aid training, is now compulsory in all state-funded schools in England.

We offer an excellent and worthwhile opportunity for Key Stage 3 & 4 to become acquainted with basic first aid, meeting the requirements of the Department for Education. In addition to developing confidence and competence in first aid, students will also have the opportunity to attain a nationally regulated qualification, enhance their CV and develop new life skills.

Syllabus

A range of essential components will be covered, including:

  • Defining first aid
  • Primary survey of patient
  • Recovery position
  • Resuscitation
  • Safe use of an AED
  • Choking
  • Head injuries
  • Cuts, grazes and bruises
  • Nosebleeds
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Fractures and dislocations
  • Sprains and strains

If you have your own venue, please get in touch and we will be able to provide you with a reduced quote if the venue is suitable.

Certification

An assessment will be carried out through practical demonstration and a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course in order to achieve the 3-year Level 2 Student First Aid qualification.
